PGCert Spirituality, Ecology and Mental Health
Certified Forest Bathing Practitioner
Meditation and Mindfulness Guide
Holly has most recently graduated with a PGCert in Spirituality, Ecology and Mental Health from Buckinghamshire New University, focusing her research on holistic and nature based therapies such as forest bathing. She is a certified Sylvotherapy (Forest Bathing) Practitioner, a form of nature therapy rooted in the traditional practice of 'Shinrin-yoku' in Japan. Her workshops and classes bring together her knowledge and experience of psychology, philisophy, ecology, and spiritual teachings and practices from her own 10 year journey of self-discovery and mental health recovery. Having experienced both anxiety and depression throughout her childhood, teens and early 20s, she knows first hand what it's like to live through a struggle with mental health. Holly endeavours to inspire and guide others on their own journey's to wellness through her classes, workshops, retreats and community.
Holly also has a BSc in Ecology and Conservation from the University of Brighton and has worked in a number of conservation projects around the world. These include Krka National Park in Croatia with Operation Wallacea as a Habitat Survey Leader, and in Kefalonia with Wildlife Sense as a Seagrass Research Assistant.
Her scientific knowledge of the natural world enables her to understand its processes, qualities and interconnectedness from a holistic perspective, informing the core value of her work:
humanity is nature itself and not something separate from it.
Working and teaching in conservation allowed her to discover a more innate calling to help others form deeper connections with nature both outdoors and within themselves. This lead her to continuing her studies in Spirituality, Ecology and Mental Health.
In her spare time Holly loves to go hiking both in the UK and abroad, travelling in her self converted campervan.
Some of her favourite outdoor adventures include sunset hikes above the clouds in Wales, discovering the waterfalls, gorges and forests of the Peak District and Lake District, pushing herself on via ferrata routes in the Dolomites, and of course forest bathing in her hammock in her local woodland!
